The thread size for the hole next to the petcock hole measures 5\/16 inch-24 *NOTE: Tank requires sanding and primer prior to painting. Petcock fitting should be masked or plugged during painting for easy installation of petcock. It is suggested to pressure test and use a tank sealer. We suggest using Kreem gas tank combo kit to clean  condition  and seal to help stop leaks and prevent corrosion. Factory sample is a brand new production part but may have imperfections in the finished surface. Check threaded and bearing holes for excess plating before installation. There are no physical defects  such as cracks or holes  there will be cosmetic imperfections only. May have dings  dents  bent tabs and\/or surface rust.
